I’m not addicted to the board game Scrabble, but this is perfect for my needs. Single player versus AI is easy to configure with levels of difficulty and types of words allowed! I’m not sure what I’m missing, but it’s essentially Scrabble as I remember it as a kid and young adult. I would give it 6 stars if it was possible!

I like being able to play at my own pace with AI. But it can get annoying when AI uses weirdo words, foreign words or doesn’t recognize common English words. And l can’t change tiles but AI can. Simple and straightforward and relaxing.

The bugs are so bad it’s frustrating to play the game.

The Artificial Intelligence is probably named Damien. It will sabotage your moves, then steal them. It’s a queer opponent. It’s not fun. I play games for fun, this AI took all the fun out of it. Adios, Damien.

Great game but out of the blue it started doing odd things. I had to delete it and reinstall it a few times. Hope it gets fixed.

I have played this game for years and am addicted to it. It is both fun and educational. As a tutor, I recommend it to my students for vocabulary growth. I highly recommend Words With Al!

Both times I downloaded this app I played a few games and the I got a pop up both times forcing me to click “ok” if I wanted to continue. It didn’t seem related to the game and was in Russian. So I had to delete the app.

this would be a great game if the bot didn't make up words. don't know what dictionary is being used by the app, but merriam-webster doesn't recognize many words it plays & there is no challenge available.

Best game of Scrabble type games.. it does often freeze during game requiring deleting and reinstalling - this bug should be fixed.

I played for about three weeks and enjoyed it immensely. Then, out of the blue, the AI started playing two separate words (not on an axial intersection, but in separate parts of the board) on a single turn. I thought the first time was a burp, but it continued game after game. Hahaha. Had to delete it after that. 4 stars for a good try though.

I like this game quite a bit but its dictionary needs to be updated or corrected. Quite a few words that are played by the app in the AI mode are not words that appear in the English dictionary. A suggestion for improving the game is to add a definition feature that shows the definition of the word when tapped. Otherwise a fun word game.

The app has an option to use Scrabble rules in the game. I set that but the game still takes 2 turns essentially by adding letters to the board on more than 1 row or column. Plan to delete

It doesn’t recognize some English words. I could have played “wilderness” on a triple word score, but it wouldn’t recognize the word. Instead it played “wildered” in that spot. An archaic word not even in use today. But it still beats Scrabble Go.

Basically scrabble except you can play more than one word at a time. And at last a game that doesn’t have a bunch of other nonsense added like coins or “jewels” when all you really want is to play! Only one ad at start of each game and then that’s it!

At first I thought the AI and its dictionary were just very advanced until it denied correctly spelled words and used words that were either archaic or completely misspelled. Fix your dictionary!

I love playing Scrabble and am enjoying Al but the highest difficulty level needs to be more difficult. I’m accustomed to playing against Zoey but she seems to have disappeared. Toughen up your game Al.

I can deal with obscure words, but the AI is putting 2 or more words at their turn. That’s no version of Scrabble I’m aware of.

So far, it does entertain you, but there are some glitches. Some of the words are not in the dictionary but ai uses them. It’s not Scrabble.

What is this? Random words that are not in the American dictionary. Sometimes the AI is playing , sometimes you’re playing with / against yourself. The words are ridiculous and makes the game not fun at all. They need to update their dictionary to allow the AI to play with American words, not foreign words. It’s ok to play but definitely go find another app where the words played make sense. Not just two letters places together to ruin all of it. Lame.

The highest computer setting is not very competitive. I am not a genius, but I win every game. Also, why does the AI seem to stop playing at the end? Surely there is some possible play to be made. Not as good as the old Scrabble app that was just removed, but many times better than the Scrabble Go app that replaced it. Also there are some questionable words that it accepts. (c**t). That should not be in any dictionary.

While trying to play this game I get stymied by a few things. First. This has happened a few times. Whenever I try to add a word that contains a letter at the end of one of the Programs game pieces I'm told my "Word is not properly placed." " Words should cross fixed tiles in a field. " This comment does not make any sense to me. The words are being played to appropriate positions and I cannot find any explanation of this in the rules. Example: Play is positioned near the right edge of the board. The computer had played an R to the end of my horizontal word LOVE creating LOVER. Above the R was a Blank triple word space and left of that was a blank space above the E, below the VE was the word AH. I Attempted to add the word YO in the spaces above the ER ( which included putting my O in the triple word space. ) This would have additionally created Vertical word YEH formed with my Y positioned over the E in LOVER and the Vertical word OR with the O positioned in the triple word space over top the R in LOVER. Another issue is the Program doesn't recognise many UK common English terms. Like the word LOVEY. Finally the dictionary doesn't seem to exist and when I click on the Programs words I get a message in what appears to be Russian. All this is a little frustrating as I started this App to replace my a classic Scrabble game that has been discontinued. I'm hoping there's some remedy for these issues and please add details to the Rules listed in this App. thx

Great for learning new vocabulary. But it needs a dictionary. Also needs a pass feature. Minimal ads. Simple design which I like.Would be hire rating if it had those two features.

There is glitches and also the Game would not let me put the letter s on bathroom, says it’s not in the dictionary. But I have fun playing anyways, but would be better if the error glitches were fixed & the game would recognize more words that are in the dictionary.

Minimal ads, only occurs before starting a new game, one time and that’s it. Missing a couple of things in my opinion such as, ability to remove tiles when you place them because you can’t make a word, or a win/loss tally. Minimal things. I like that I can just play a game and not have bothersome “tasks” or need to collect coins or anything. It’s not overly flashy, just a basic game of making words. Unfortunately I’ve tapped out because I have beat AI almost all the time, even on the most difficult level setting, I think I’ve lost maybe a handful of times out of more than 50 games (that’s a guess since there’s no win/loss tally, could be a hundred matches played and 6 losses). Overall, if you enjoy scrabble, then this just might be your game to play. Thumbs up for me.

It was nice that you had an AI option. However, the AI usage of words that aren't really words, lack of inclusion of actual words, and truly terrible difficulty algorithm (normal plays normal, but average deals you impossible tile sets while dealing good to AI) combined with kludgy tile placing makes this something that really could stand some improvement.

Many words are not in the dictionary, like AI used the word “garveys”. What is that? And it wouldnt recognize words i used, like “indie”. They need to update the dictionary AI is using. i deleted the app.

I was excited to find this so I can play against myself during quarantine. I like to look up AI’s words I don’t know to expand my vocabulary. However, several words are not even in the dictionary, and it uses slang, foreign words and abbreviations while it won’t let me do the same. I switched from Erudite to Scrabble and it still added multiple words in different parts of the board.

I was astonished to see the computer play the word ‘yid’ on the board. Are you kidding me? I’ve deleted the app. Hate speech being offered by the computer is absolutely unacceptable.

I always win on any level! What’s up with that? The AI just quits trying.

Nice, simple. Some of the scoring is wrong though, like you score points for blank tiles, and you get 50 bonus points for using all your tiles even if you don’t have 7 tiles.

Scrabble or Erudite with multiple skill levels and no ads. I can’t ask for anything more.

I love the game and have played it for years. I prefer it over scrabble. My only negative comment is that sometimes the game freezes and I have to delete it and download it again. Doing this makes me lose my stats. But, it is fun to play!

Yeah, no constant ads! Would love more features in the game. But can’t beat this game for keeping your mind sharp. Really enjoying it.

I have had this game for over 4 years and it had occasion small ads. NOW the permanent ad bar takes up most of the bottom row making it impossible to play the game!!!! I' m uninstalling! Too bad for the maker.

Really liked it until it started to use Yiddish words. Any language other than English when it is defaulted to English is an outright cheat. Not everyone in the world is Jewish.

Just like scrabble but no ads constantly popping up after every turn!

I got this app as a replacement for Scrabble which got greedy. In order to avoid the obnoxious commercials that popped up every move. To avoid this you were forced to buy their rather expensive version. The Words AI app is pretty good but even though I selected "impossible " difficulty level, I consistently win. I get a congratulation with a comment. "May be you need to increase your difficulty level. HOW DO YOU DO IT? I have noticed that near the end of the game, the computer stops playing. As of today 12/18/2016, I have changed my rating to 2stars. I'm sick and tired of winning and be told "perhaps you need to increase your difficulty level". How do I do that when I've already set the difficulty level to "impossible "

Won't work since the last 2 updates. Too bad 5 stars otherwise.

I have been playing this game for years and I'm totally addicted to it. In fact I rate it above all other similar games. It freezes every now and then and I have to delete it and reinstall it, but I'd rather go through that hassle than download any other word games.

Enjoyed playing this game in spite of the occasional obscure words that ai used. However, since the last iPhone update the app will not open at all. Hope this is rectified soon.

Since the new update to iOS 9.0 the app simply won't open. Love the game and miss it a lot.

Great word game! I play it at least twice a day. Great advantage to scrabble is that it lets you know if your combination makes a word before you submit the word!

I had lost my scrabble game and didn't want to pay $9.99 for it so I found this app and now it is my favorite word app. More challenging than scrabble game because you can rely on dictionary and word help buttons. I like this game better.

I play against the AI in the "Impossible" mode. It often comes out with 8 letter words and obscure words but I almost always win by a large margin. I haven't played the alternative game so I can't comment on it, but I will try it. The instructions are lacking, not sure how to perform all functions. There is a definite challenge here for me to come up with high scoring words but the AI often stops placing words, especially towards the end of the game. That gives me an unfair advantage, maybe it is exchanging tiles? Or maybe it is limiting itself in some way I don't know about, I set all settings wide open so there should not be any time limits. I also pass on the first move of every other game allowing the AI to place tiles first. It seems that the AI often gets more of the higher value tiles than I do but I haven't counted so maybe it is my imagination. For many I would say this is too easy. However, most of the time I enjoy playing. I have paid the reasonable 99 cents to eliminate advertising, flicking or rotating ads are distracting to me, this game is certainly worth the small amount. There is a serious bug, sometimes when I start the game placing the tiles in the middle as you are supposed to do, the game says "word not place correctly" and does not allow me to do anything more. I then pass, but nothing changes, so I must exit and start a new game. Sometimes this happens several games in a row. I know I sound insulting in this review but I am hoping it is in the way of constructive criticism. I play the game almost every night as a test for myself, so how well do I do? Last night I made a 112 point combination by making a plural vertically with an S and an eight letter word starting with that S horizontally. Personal record, beating out the 72 I had done previously. total 553 points, usually I do in the 400-450 range. I say to you, try it and if you like it, pay the fee and enjoy! 😃
